PAX EMV Payment Terminal Setup

Installing the EmaginePOS Payment Extension

The EmaginePOS Payment extension must be installed on every station in a location that will process payments through a PAX EMV credit card payment terminal.

If the payment extension is not installed, you will see this error displayed at the bottom of the EmaginePOS station screen:

To install the extension, select “Show Commands” from the POS front-end, then select “Install Browser Extension” from the pop-up menu:

Select “Add Extension” from the pop-up dialog:

After the EmaginePOS Payments extension is installed, close the browser, and reopen.  The “Payment Terminal Initialization Failure” error message should no longer appear.

Assigning PAX EMV Payment Terminals to Stations

In BackOffice, you will need to assign the EMV Payment Terminal to the Station(s) that will process payments through the device.

Navigate to the Stations page in BackOffice, and select the Station you would like to assign an EMV Payment Terminal to.  Under Settings, locate “Primary Payment Terminal”, and select the Payment Terminal you would like to assign from the drop-down choices.  These will most likely be named with the serial number of the Payment Terminal, so you can identify them easily:

A Payment Terminal can be assigned to multiple stations if desired.

PAX D210 WiFi Setup

You will need to configure your PAX D210 to connect to the WiFi Access Point for your POS network.  The PAX D210 and the station(s) that will receive payment through the D210 need to be in the same subnet to communicate (if the wireless access point gives a subnet range of 192.168.1.x, your POS station(s) will also need to be in the 192.168.1.x subnet).

To begin WiFi configuration, press the MENU key at the top right of the keypad:

You will be prompted for a password: 916860.

Select the COMMUNICATION menu:

You will be prompted for the password again: 916860.

Select the WIFI PARAMETERS menu:

Select SSID:

Enter your SSID in the field, and press the enter key on the D210 keypad.
To enter an alphabetic character, press the corresponding key on the keypad (“2” for A, B, or C) then press the ALPHA key until the correct character is selected.  This is case sensitive:

Back out (Red X at the bottom left of the D210 keypad) to the previous screen (WIFI PARAMETERS), and select PASSWORD:

Enter your WiFi password, and press enter on the D210 keypad.
To enter an alphabetic character, press the corresponding key on the keypad (“2” for A, B, or C) then press the ALPHA key until the correct character is selected.  This is case sensitive:

Back out to the main menu, and the PAX D210 will attempt to connect to WiFi.
If this fails, repeat the previous steps, and verify that your SSID and password are correct.

The device should always be powered on, and connected to the internet, otherwise batches will not close when scheduled.
